Tommy: do fish get cold?
[uhhh…no?]
T: Because they have scale not skin?

Tommy: I thought the Golden Gate Bridge would be gold but it’s red. I was like ‘oh.’
[There is a gold bridge in Sacramento.]
Maggie: is it MADE out of gold?
[no. It’s just painted gold.]
Maggie: oh. That’s not exciting.
Not surprisingly, the kids did not win any prizes at our city costume contest.
Tommy: I’m really let down.
I think people thought I was a super hero. I really wanted a trophy.
Maggie: I know you think we are winners but that doesn’t make us feel any better.
Tommy counted 11 Elsas and I counted about 5-6 Annas.
Maggie: What happens when me and Tommy’s parents die and we’re still kids?
How can a birthday cake win?
I believe Tommy thinks the past tense of “watch” is “watchen”.
Tommy: I STILL don’t have a youtube channel. What should I call it? How about The Lost Diamond? Can you make that? I’m ready to post my first video. But how will people find me? Oh, I know. Post it on Facebook. That’s the magic key.
Surprising no one but a seven-year-old, TheLostDiamond was not available as a user name. Nor were PartyGuy, PartyDude, SparklySpider, HaloReach, and BullsEye. However, SevenYearOldLuchador, BlackMixingBoard, StringyStringySpiderweb and ForgottenLegos WERE all available.
Maggie: you know what? When I get old in probably gonna look weird. Yeah I think some old people look weird but I still love them.
October is body month! Perfect time for skeletons and guts and learnin’! This Squishy Human Body is a fun learning tool. Maggie kept saying “this is so gross!” I said asked if she liked it and she said “YES!”
Another day: another million snacks. It’s 10:29 a.m. We got up at 8:15. So far *for one kid* I have fixed oatmeal with blueberries and bananas, graham crackers and Nutella (served on a tray) and “can noodles and rice”. I know. It’s a monster of my own creation.
Also, I may complain about the frequency with which i must fix food (no less than every 10 minutes) but I’m very, very thankful that I have food to fix…so much food that my kids have CHOICES and will not go hungry for lack.
