Tommy: I know what what we need: One of those huge plates with a dome on top. I know you’re going to say no, but it would be cool to have around the house. Just walk around serving things. It would be a cool view for the turkey.
There’s An App For That

Tommy: so how do you know if you’re pregnant…[looks at my belly] if you already look pregnant?

We saw a wedding party taking a smoke break outside a restaurant. Maggie had so many questions.
“What?! Why is the bride smoking? I didn’t know women smoked. Why were smokers [cigarettes] even invented? ARE THEY PUTTING PAPER IN THEIR MOUTHS? Eeeewwww!!!”
Then we had an interesting discussion about addiction. She decided she might be addicted to candy.

Maggie (after spending considerable time gathering all the lip balms and putting them in her little purse): What is Chapstick for?
[lengthy explanation about using lip balm versus licking lips]
Mags: Thank you for telling me that! I just thought Chapstick was to be fancy!
What Happened?

Here’s my super weird parenting experience of the day.
Tommy was eating oatmeal this morning (plain, no fruit) when he said something to the effect of “oh hey! I just found my tooth that I lost but could find.” Then he handed me a tooth. Presumably the tooth that fell out but then could not be located. The tooth that fell out TWELVE DAYS AGO! We assumed he had swallowed it or something.
What, I ask you, the HECK?!
In the intervening 11-12 days, he lost one other tooth (day 2), brushed regularly (or at least semi regularly?) ate lots of meals and probably a fair amount of candy, some of it hard and chewy (halloween, day 4), and I specifically asked him if he had any other loose teeth (no).
There were no fresh spots in his mouth where a tooth could have recently fallen out of.
All I can figure out is that his teeth are crowded and the lost tooth somehow stayed wedged in place even though he felt it “fall out” or become detached. I have no idea though. It kind of weirds me out. He is extremely unforthcoming about any details of the incident, refusing to talk about it and asking me to quit questioning him and discussing it.
